Ferrari to Drop the Top on New 458 Italia Spider

According to the report from Germanys Auto Motor und Sport magazine, like its predecessor, the 458 Italia Spider will be offered with an electrically operated cloth convertible top that disappears behind the front seats.
Under the hood, the 458 Italia Spider will sport the same 4.5-liter V8 engine with direct injection technology found in the coupe model.
The V8 delivers 570 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 540Nm or 398.2 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm. All that grunt will be sent to the rear wheels through Ferraris highly-acclaimed 7-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox.

This is What Happens When You Keep Your Eyes on the Girl

And as it surely has happened to so many others, one quick look didnt satisfy our protagonists curiosity (or possibly admiration) so he let his guard down and turned his focus away from the road to get a 360 view of the young woman… See what happens next after the break in the security camera footage.

BMW to launch X1 facelift on Feb 14
Updated BMW X1 to sport refreshed styling and will get a more powerful diesel engine.

BMW is all set to launch the updated X1 here on February 14.
To give the car a more upmarket appearance, BMW has carried out a whole slew of styling tweaks on the X1. The front gets a more heavily contoured bumper, an altered grille featuring silver slats, more pronounced sockets for the round fog lamps and a completely redesigned lower section finished with a silver accent.
The headlamps retain the same familiar shape as those used on the existing X1, but receive new internal graphics, including LED corona ring main beam lights as an option. Further back, it gets reshaped exterior mirror housings carrying side repeater lights. The rear receives a restyled bumper, which like the one up front, has been lightened visually by the adoption of more body coloured surfaces and a larger silver scrub-plate element.
Inside, the X1 adopts a lightly reworked centre console, high gloss air vents and a new range of optional trim elements. On the mechanical front, the X1 is set to get more powerful versions of the current engines and a new eight-speed automatic gearbox.
Fiat working on a new budget car brand
Sergio Marchionne confirms low-cost Fiats are being discussed.

Fiat could launch a budget brand in the mould of Dacia as its existing cars move further upmarket. Sergio Marchionne, boss of Fiat, confirmed in an interview over the weekend that the decision was being mulled over following the success of the Romanian firm.
According to Marchionne, talk of a back-to-basics Fiat product has circulated for many years, but concerns had arisen around the profitability of such a project. Dacia has now proved low cost neednt mean low-profit (estimates suggest Dacia has an operating margin of nine percent), and the future of such a car is being considered much more seriously.
The 500 and Panda ranges would continue as part of Fiats mainstream offerings, but with a near-premium billing to differentiate them from the cheaper model. Evidence of this can already be witnessed in the upcoming 500L and 500XL.
A separate brand name, like Renaults Dacia and Nissans Datsun, would also be introduced to the utilitarian Fiat to further mark it out from other products. Names considered thus far include Innocenti, the Italian firm bought by Fiat in 1990 and best known for the Bertone-styled Mini of 1974. Other suggestions have included those that reflect the basic nature of the concept, such as ABC or 123.
Any Fiat sub-brand cars would be built outside of Europe to ensure the retail price target of 7,500 Euros (Rs 5.38 lakh) can be met. Non-European production capacity is now being analysed by Marchionne and the Fiat management as to its suitability for the project.
Fiat would not only be targeting emerging markets such as India and China with a new budget brand, but also many European countries. The ongoing financial turmoil has increased the appeal of “crisis cars” such as those offered by Dacia, according to reports in Automotive News Europe.

Opel Insignia Prematurely Leaked on the Web

While Opel was busy handing out camouflaged images of the Insignia, the guys at Dutch magazine AutoWeek managed to get there hands on the first official images of Opel’s forthcoming mid-size sedan. As you can see in the pictures, the Insignia, which will most probably be sold in the States as a Saturn (Aura) and in Australia and New Zealand as a Holden, is far more tasty in and out than the outgoing Vectra.
We don’t have the official details on the mechanics yet, but in Europe expect the range to kick off with 1.8-liter petrol (140 Hp) and 1.9-liter turbo-diesel engines. There will also be a top-of-the line Insignia OPC model equipped with GM’s 2.9-liter V6 turbo engine pumping out approximately 300 Hp to all four wheels.
